Funded by the European Commission under Erasmus+ KA2 and entitled ESSA-Sport – “A European Sector Skills Alliance for Sport and Physical Activity”, this 3-year project is coordinated by EOSE with the support of 18 national partners and 5 European networks. The ESSA-Sport represents a major opportunity as it aims to engage for the first time the whole sector at both the EU and national level and it offers a unique opportunity to build a partnership for quality research and consultation, to identify realities, trends and challenges facing the sector, and to undertake the first real analysis of labour market and skills needs and priorities based on a national “bottom-up” approach.

The national desk research through the European Sector Skills Alliance for Sport and Physical Activity (ESSA-Sport) has now started!

Following a meeting with Eurostat, the ESSA-Sport Research team has developed a common research protocol to be able to define and understand the sport and physical activity labour market across the member states.National coordinators are currently undertaking the expected desk research with the end goal to collate available data/statistics and produce national reports analysing the employment situation, skill needs and priorities to be implemented for the sector.
