Sport Sciences School of Rio Maior (ESDRM)

ESDRM (Escola Superior de Desporto de Rio Maior), the Rio Maior School of Sport was created by Decree-Law n. 352/97 of 5 December 1997 as the organic unity of the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém and training activities started in academic year 1998/99.

The school is devoted to Sport Sciences, training and research. Students and staff are involved in 6 bachelors, 4 masters and postgraduate/short duration programs on Sports Coaching, Fitness & Health, Outdoor Activities, Sports Tourism, Sports Psychology, Sports Management and Special Groups.

Produce, apply and disseminate knowledge in the field of sport science, these are the objectives of the ESDRM while seeking the technical, scientific, cultural, and human training of all its members, providing services to the community as well as fostering technical, scientific and cultural interchange with national and international, private and public institutions, that seek similar goals.
